ISPHF 100th Anniversary Logo Contest
In 2022, the Illinois State Police (ISP) will celebrate its 100th Anniversary. In anticipation of the anniversary, the ISP is hosting a logo design contest open to active ISP employees, retirees, and community members.
The 100th anniversary logo will be used in making commemorative stars, patches, car decals, letterhead, challenge coins, yearbook, apparel, web design, advertising, and collectible memorabilia.

Logo Design Criteria
Professional: This logo may be featured on websites, social media platforms and other mediums (stationary, pamphlets, pins, etc). As a result, while we want the logo to be eye- catching, it must still be legible.
Theme: Logo must promote the 100th anniversary of the Illinois State Police. A secondary goal would be to celebrate the past as well as the future of the ISP.
Color: There are no limitations and any colors may be used. However, logo must look good in color (if any) or black and white.
Integrity: Logos cannot contain copyrighted material. Logos must have been created and edited by the contestant(s). Logos may not include images or licensed images that have been previously published. Must be easily reproducible and scalable for large and small formatting.
Nostalgia: The logo should celebrate the past as well as the future of the ISP.
Contestants are limited to a maximum of three design entries.
The top three logo design winners will receive:
1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $200
3rd Place: $100
Participants with accepted logo artwork will receive a specialized ISP patch card and a certificate signed by the Director of the ISP.
Submission Terms and Conditions
INDEMNIFICATION, RELEASE AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: By entering or submitting a Logo and/or other artwork for consideration you agree to indemnify, release, and hold harmless the State of Illinois, its agencies, officers, employees, agents and volunteers from any and all costs, demands, expenses, losses, claims, damages, liabilities, settlements and judgments, including in-house and contracted reasonable outside attorneys’ fees and expenses, directly arising out of third party claims, which arise out of: (a) participation in the 100th Anniversary Logo Contest or receipt or use of any prize; (b) any actual or alleged third party claim that the Logo submitted for consideration in the contest is infringing, misappropriating, or otherwise violating any United States intellectual property (patent, copyright, trade secret, or trademark) rights of a third party. You waive the right to claim any attorneys’ fees and any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
APPLICABLE LAW: By submitting a Logo and/or other artwork for consideration, you agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Logo Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Illinois. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of the Official Rules, your rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the ISPHF or ISP in connection with the Logo Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Illinois, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of Illinois or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Illinois.
OWNERSHIP AND USE: By submitting a Logo and/or other artwork for consideration in the contest, you represent the Logo submission is original and was produced by you alone and no other person or entity holds rights to the submission. Furthermore, you give the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation (ISPHF) and/or the Illinois State Police (ISP) the right to use, edit, or publish the LOGO submission in any form, manner, or media and for any commercial or non-commercial purpose, without further compensation and irrevocably assign and transfer all rights, title and interest in the submission to the ISPHF and/or ISP, and, if required, will sign any documents necessary to transfer copyright and rights of publicity.
